Toasted Oysters
Established in 2023, Toasted Oysters is dedicated to the revitalization of The Great South Bay. We take great pride and consider it a privilege to farm these waters, nurture our oysters, and harvest them for you to enjoy. Farming oysters in their natural habitat in the beautiful waters off the coast of Long Island, Toasted Oysters deliver a unique and true, tide to table experience.
Origin
The Blue Point Oyster is named after the tiny hamlet nestled on The Great South Bay; Blue Point, NY. It is here, in Blue Point that the popularity of these oysters increased significantly during the turn of the 18th century. In the years to follow, these pristine waters have had its fair share of environmental setbacks. Natural disasters, overharvesting and pollution have all contributed to the diminished population. Today, through the highly regulated industry we, at Toasted Oysters pledge to sustainably continue the revitalization of the cherished Blue Point Oysters all the while contributing to the resurgence of our local Bays. Through our ecofriendly growing methods and respecting our waterways, the tradition will live on for generations to follow. At Toasted Oysters we call to mind that it's not a Blue Point Oyster if it's not grown in The Great South Bay.

The Emerging Baymen
Toasted Oysters cornerstone is built on friendship and with nothing to do with Oysters. The team met over 15 years ago in the back of an ambulance. Ray a Paramedic and Mike an EMT at the time, were frequently paired up on their per-diem side gig they both worked with a private ambulance company. As life ticked by and as both pursued different careers, a few years ago Ray invited Mike over for a cold beer near the fire pit. It was during this moment in Ray's backyard that he informed Mike that he was attending an Oyster gardening class and Mike was intrigued. Mike, knowing absolutely nothing about Oysters, followed suit and took the next available class. In January 2023, the emerging baymen purchased a three-and-a-half acre farm on the historical Great South Bay. The Team is proud to harvest their oyster from these waters, the only true source for genuine Blue Point Oysters.
